Happy Birthday to Us

Oh my goodness….8 years!  It’s hard to believe we’ve been here for 8 years!

I found Yoga Nook in the spring of 2017, and I fell in love with the community built by one of my teachers, Alex.  I felt like I was coming home.  As I continue to grow in my journey and got to know all of you, that feeling has grown.

As I look back over the years, the changes still amaze and surprise me, particularly the last two years.

Personally, my practice has changed and deepened.  When I came back to my mat seven years ago, I never imagined that it would effect is so many ways.  What started out as a way to calm my thoughts and anxiety has become a transformation of self.  A cycle of healing.  Space to fall in love with myself again.  I’ve found teachers that helped me connect with my energies in a new way, a deeper connection to my spiritual practice, and a community to grow with and learn from.

That’s the heart of our practice.  Asana (or the postures) is the first step to reconnect with ourselves.  When we start to bring awareness to our bodies, we notice different sensations and how our energies flow in the body.  With that awareness, we can adjust and find harmony between the body, mind, and heart.  We step closer to the people we are meant to be and connect with the people around us on another level.

Our community has grown in the past years.  We have different ways to explore our practice, such as virtually through Zoom and the virtual library.  At its heart though, we are here to explore our journeys, our practices, where we are today.  The beautiful thing about yoga is that it meets us where we are today.  No more, no less.  We can come to the mat and just be in the moment.

Happy Birthday to You – the beautiful Yoga Nook Community!

Affirmation of Love:

  • I am piece of the Universe’s puzzle of love.
  • We are pieces of the Universe’s puzzle of love.
  • Together, we create the Universe’s puzzle of love.

Many Blessings
