Feeling Grounded

When life feels overwhelming we can get caught up in the whirlwind or get grounded.

Life has many ups and downs, for some they ride the waves and some get caught up in the wake. Knowing what to do in those moments can bring you a sense of relief and peace. A helpful mantra, you may have heard it, “Everything is temporary“. Do your best to be kind and patient to yourself when dealing with any struggles. Everyone processes things at a different pace.

Feeling grounded means to get present, connect with something stable in your environment so that you may return to a place of balance. To become present: feel your breath, tune into your heartbeat, feel the weight of gravity. You could also take a walk, notice the wind, the trees, sounds around you, the feel of your steps. Or reach out to a friend that uplifts you and reminds you of the good things in your life.

It’s a practice learning to get present instead of reacting, but one that is so worthwhile to feel centered, calm, and resilient against what life throws at you.
